Hi everyone!!!
I am just so excited about this blog.. and I hope everyone else takes the time to stop in and keep us all updated on everything going on. It's like a big huge LIVE scrapbook!
VA is awesome! We love it here but, of course we miss all of you and that's the hardest part.
I have my days when I wonder what I was thinking but, I know that we made the best decision for our family at this point in our lives.
Breck is working at Zumiez in the mall here. It is the very first Zumiez to open in the entire state of VA. He got to help set up the store and open with them on grand opening. If it weren't for the fact that he's 17. He would be an assistant manager. He's gotten all the training and is the only one other than an actual manager allowed to run the registers. He loves it. He's made some good friends and spends most of his day when not working out skateboarding. The weather here is amazing!!! (minus the occasional rain) I was able to talk him into going to Youth Conference with Bryton this year. So.. Im pretty excited about that. He will only have a half day of school all next year and he will be graduating.. WOW!! Crazy sutff but.. other than Kami, I know you can all relate :o)
Bryton is doing great. We found a cosmetology school for her here which I am really excited about. It's nothing like the ones I went too. She has the freedom to pick and choose her own hours.. day by day if she chooses. Their main goal is to focus on working around the student's schedule and helping them graduate on their own time. There is no penalty for how long she chooses to take to make it through the program so she can go as fast or as slow as she wants. The hours to complete graduation here are only 1500 vs 2000 in Utah. Who know's I may even go get my licence just to say I have it.. since I have 1700 hours from Utah that I can transfer!
She is taking some tutoring classes this summer to help her get caught up with her academics and she is starting dance up again in August so she will have a full plate next year but, Im excited to keep her busy.
Bregan just started her first day of school yesterday. That was pretty interesting. She and I had a looooooooong talk about how friends here would be a bit different than friends in Utah. Chances of her finding friends here that are members of the church are slim to none so we had a long talk about how she can't just go ask someone if they are "mormon" not that she should have in Utah but.. that was the norm. So.. yesterday I asked her how school was and she said.. well.. I met lot's of friends who swear. (Not a suprise) however... she told me she was brave and asked them not to talk like that around her and they agreed. She is looking forward to summer. This will be her first year getting to go to girl's camp and Im excited that she has a big sister who will be there with her. Girls camp is close here, they don't take them far away. And they will be staying in cabins VS. tents that Bryton got last year. The girls both love our new ward and the young womens.
Brody is doing great.. I finally got all of his paperwork and things figured out we are just waiting for him to get a physical on Thursday of this week and then he will be able to start school. I got to meet his teacher and she seems AWESOME! She won teacher of the year last year and I've heard great things about her. He will get to be spoiled in his classroom. They have a full kitchen in the room and he only has 4 other kids in his class. They have a swimming pool so he will get to keep going swimming which he loves. Yesterday when I was leaving from dropping Bregan off at school, I got a phone call from Bryton and she was hysterical.. all I heard was blood and brody so I drove like a crazed women to get home. He had slipped in the shower and hit his head and split it open so.. off to the emergency room we went. He ended up with 2 staples in the back of his head.. poor little guy. But he's doing great thank goodness.
Well.. we have some pretty exciting news.. I kept hoping for the day it would come but, never thought it really would. Brandt.. is leaving his job of 9 years to run our business together. We've got July 5th set as his last day. He hasn't told Comcast yet, but my business is doing awesome and I'm picking up things quickly here in VA and other than the great benefits which will cost us a bit more to make up for my business will flourish even more with him here running it along side me. So.. were a little nerveous of course but, ready and excited and feel great about the decision we've made.
I booked tickets for Breck and I to fly out to Utah for moms surgery. We fly out Saturday night at 5pm and don't get in to Salt Lake until midnight. I'll be staying with a good friend in Riverton and hope to get to see you all while we are there. We fly home Thursday morning.
I didn't want to come alone and Breck wasn't about to pass up an offer to get to come back to Utah. We love & miss you all.

I am so amazed by the way this all works. Dad and I cleaned all morning and ran to the store to stock up for Mothers Day, (just in case we need it) and the minute we got home, I ran to the computer and read this post from you. I love it Konae. It makes it seem like you are closer. I miss you as I sit at my computer crying. It is a good cry but I have not gotton over the emotion of this blog. I listen to the music while watching family and I lose it. I am glad Brody is okay. I wish I could see all of you next week but I am excited to see you and Breck. Please stay with me too.. if you can. We have the bedroom downstairs.
Thanks for writing all this stuff Konae.
